Powers of Two is a fresh software development company set up by Freek van der Helm and Vincent Huisman in Groningen.
We’re two developers who’ve spent 8 years working side by side inside the development team of a digital agency. Over
that time, we’ve built, shipped, refined, and maintained a wide range of digital products. Learning not just how to
write solid code, but how to work seamlessly within agency workflows, deadlines, and client expectations. We understand
the realities agencies face because we’ve been there, balancing your creative vision with technical feasibility, and
speed with quality. In addition to taking on our own projects, we partner with digital agencies that don’t have an
in-house development department. We act as an extension of your team, translating designs and concepts into robust,
production-ready builds while staying aligned with your processes and your clients’ goals.
During our years working together, we have delivered a wide range of art-focused projects, including immersive
applications for exhibitions at Mauritshuis and The Kremer Collection, as well as numerous virtual galleries for The
National Gallery, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, and other museums and private galleries. We continue doing similar
projects while also taking a few steps closer to the games industry. We are part of the Game Bakery, a creative hub for
games, where we’ve helped program various games including Outbound, a highly anticipated game about driving your own
campervan through nature.
Whether you need ongoing development support or help delivering a specific project, we bring the experience of an
internal team, with the flexibility of an external partner.
